A little window trim

Tad was looking for a quick project to do after work, so he decided to trim out the windows in the living room (which is really going to be the dining room lol). He custom made the sillplates for all three of the windows and after some thought decided to just buy general trim and stain it for around them. Brysen got into the act and helped stain and poly them all. We went with Red Oak for the stain and are trying to finalize a color for the walls. The color of trim in the rest of the house will match this and the dining room, kitchen, living room, and stairway will all be the same wall color so it all will flow together. Here are some pics...

And up with the Masters walls!

This is the master bedroom...which is made up of old parts of the house and some of the new upstairs addition. In the addition part of it is the master bathroom and a closet. Which for a little bit, the bathroom part of it was our bedroom while we put in the bedroom walls and got it drywalled. :) No one ever said living in the mess would be easy :)

Let the drywalling begin....

Master Bedroom Demolition

Here are some pics of the mess from demo in the upstairs master bedroom. It was all plaster and lath which equals a HUGE mess (29 60 gallon contractor bags to be exact) and not a whole lotta fun!

Now for some inside work...

Well now that we have the addition up and almost done on the outside, we can start working on the upstairs inside. To start that though, we needed to tear out our living room ceiling because that is also the master bedrooms floor and it slopes like a soup bowl lol! The living room ceiling height went from 6'7" against the wall and in the center of the room it was 6'3", after we got the joists in the whole thing is 7'5". Here are some pics of that in progress with a few before pics of what the ceiling looked like...

The hole in the ceiling is from where there used to be an old pot belly woodstove in there. The pipe went from the living room ceiling, through the upstairs bedroom floor, and then out that ceiling and through the roof.
